Product Overview

This label marking abrasion test apparatus is designed to evaluate the durability of markings on electric vehicle (EV) charging couplers, plugs, and connectors, fully complying with the requirements of IEC 62196-3:2026 Clause 8, IEC 62196-1:2025 Clause 8.7 and Figure 8.

It simulates two standardized abrasion test sequences as specified in the standards:

  1. Water Rubbing Test: The marking surface is rubbed with a water-soaked cotton cloth for 15 seconds, at a compression force of 5±1 N and a speed of 1 cycle per second (one cycle = forward + backward movement).
  2. Solvent Rubbing Test: Immediately after the water test, the marking is rubbed with a cotton cloth soaked in 95% n-hexane for another 15 seconds, under the same force and speed conditions.
